Partnership Approach to Love Food Hate Waste Campaign

Durham County Council, Newcastle City Council, Northumberland County Council, North Tyneside Council, WRAP and Waste Aware North East  have come together to form a partnership approach to The Love Food Hate Waste Campaign.

Activities are being developed that will be delivered across the partnership areas, these include a cookbook containing left-over recipes sent in by competition entrants and a left-over Monday.

Waste Aware North East's Co-ordinator Jo Bennison hopes the initiative will provide a reduction in the number of food waste producers in the North East and a useful model to be used by other partnership campaigns in the future. Jo said "It would be great to think that in the future the whole of the North East can come together to deliver co-ordinated waste messages to regional stakeholders such as the public".
